In one study of young women, 80% were wearing an incorrectly sized bra.
70% wore bras that were too small and 10% wore bras that were too large.
The bra you wear every day should support you, not work against you.

Many people wear the same bra size for years without realizing that their fit may have changed.
In one study of young women, 80% were wearing an incorrectly sized bra.
70% wore bras that were too small and 10% wore bras that were too large.
Research has reported that many adolescent girls have never used professional bra-fitting services.
A published research article cited findings that 75% of adolescent girls had never received a professional bra fitting.
Your bra size may not stay the same throughout your life.
Puberty, menstrual cycles, pregnancy, aging, menopause, and weight changes can affect breast size or shape.
Your straps dig into your shoulders.
Your straps constantly slip down.
Your band rides up your back.
Breast tissue spills over the cups.
The cups have gaps or loose fabric.
Underwire digs into breast tissue.
Your bra shifts when you raise your arms.
The center of your bra doesn't fit flat against your chest.
A well-fitting bra should feel supportive and comfortable. Your body is not supposed to fit the bra, the bra is supposed to fit your body.
Many women and teen girls begin wearing bras without ever receiving clear education about proper fit. As bodies change, people may continue purchasing the same size, accept discomfort as normal, or feel pressure to make their bodies fit a particular size rather than finding a bra that fits their bodies.
Bra Sizing: Are You Truly Supported? was created to change that through education, awareness, and action.
This project encourages women and teen girls to understand the signs of an ill-fitting bra, learn why proper support matters, and take the simple but often overlooked step of checking their current bra fit.
My goal is to help at least 100 women and teen girls to learn about proper bra fitting and at least 50 people to take the next step and complete a bra sizing or fitting.

Bra Sizing: Are You Truly Supported? Is my Girl Scout Gold Award project.
I chose this issue because proper bra sizing is something many people don't learn about, even though bras are a part of everyday life for millions of people.
I have personally experienced the effects of an improper fit and realized that many people around me had similar experiences. Through this project, I want to help women and teen girls learn more about bra sizing, support, and the importance of finding a bra that fits their body instead of feeling like their body has to fit a particular size.
My goal is to turn something people often don't talk about into a conversation that helps others feel more informed, supported, and confident.
You may be surprised by the answer. Join the project and be among the first to know when my educational video, Dallas, Texas fitting event registration details, bra-fitting resources, and surveys are available.
